Simple But Sweet Sunset Session
Let me start off by saying, Frankie and Alanna are the CUTEST couple. Frankie reached out a couple of weeks ago wanting to book a session on St. Thomas while they were here on vacation. Not gonna lie, when I read their answers to my questionnaire that I give all my couples I teared up HARD CORE. His answers were SO sweet and heartfelt. When asked "How do you want to feel when you look back on these photos in 20 years?" Frankie replied, "Look back and see the photos and be like that's why I love her so much." Um hello?! How much cuter can it get?!
Because we are entering the winter months here in the Virgin Islands, the sun has started to go down a bit earlier, and so we met at Sapphire Beach at 5:30 to catch that gorgeous golden hour light. I LOVE golden hour. So much warm, cozy, deliciously golden light that brings so much magic to photographs. We started out our session on the beach. The light was just too good to ignore! Right off the bat these two oozed cuteness. So much cuteness.
We left the beach, and walked back across the lawn in front of the condos until we found this cute little hidden spot with palm trees and flowers. I really wanted to give this couple variety, and thought that this spot was perfect for that "jungle feel" while still being on the resort property. The white flowers made their tan skin pop, and I even broke out my rainbow prisms for a couple artsy shots as well.
At this point the sun was starting to really set, and we headed back to the beach to get some more romantic shots. I LOVE the sunsets at Sapphire beach. While the sunset isn't the best on the island, there are always giant puffy clouds out over the ocean that catch all the purples, pinks, and oranges in a way that reminds me of delicious cotton candy. I had Frankie and Alanna stand and even sit on the beach for some romantic, and even sexy shots. They had mentioned in their questionnaire that they were alright with getting sandy, and getting in the water and I took full advantage of that! I include this question in my questionnaire because while *I* love the intimate feel that these shots give, not all couples want to mess up their outfits and that is totally ok! I also do these shots at the end of the session, so as soon as we are done they can go back to their hotels and change out of their sandy and salty clothes! Who wants to walk around in wet clothes? Not me!
These shots were FIRE and this was the moment I saw Frankie and Alanna really open up and embrace being in front of the camera.
We ended their session with some cute little ring shots. Alanna's ring was GORGEOUS. Like wow. They were the SWEETEST couple, and you could tell that they really truly loved each other. How amazing that they had the chance to come to such a beautiful place for such an amazing vacation!
This was my first session back after not working for a couple of months due to Covid 19, and it was such a breath of fresh air! I am so happy that I am back to doing what I love! If you would like to talk to me about booking your session on St. Thomas, I would love to talk to you about your vision for your session, and help you get the beautiful beach photos of your dreams! Let's make some magic!
